Gerok is built on AI. Your stories are yours; almost everything Gerok makes from them is generated by AI models from other companies. This page says where, so you always know what you are looking at, listening to or talking with.

Who our providers are, where they work and under which safeguards is in the Privacy Policy. Gerok’s own code, not AI, decides your plan, your streaks, your awards and when a step opens.
How you can tell
- Before your first story, Gerok explains how your recording is processed and by whom, and asks for your agreement.
- Your conversation partner and the podcast hosts are marked as AI in the app.
- Narration, podcasts and pictures are labelled as AI-generated where they appear.
What AI can’t do for you
- It makes mistakes. A retelling can miss a detail and a score can be unfair. If something looks wrong, try again or tell us.
- Scores are feedback, not grades. They help you practise. They are not a certificate or an official level of your German.
- It doesn’t read emotions. Gerok never analyses your voice for mood, stress or identity; it only turns it into text to check what you said.
- No profiling. Gerok uses your data only to teach you German, never for advertising.
